FORMER LEGISLATOR AND ADJUTANT GENERAL MARK BERRY OFFICIALLY FILES FOR ARKANSAS SENATE DISTRICT 26
"I promise to be a fighter and supporter they can count on."
Ozark, AR - Today in Little Rock, former state legislator and Adjutant General Mark Berry officially filed his candidacy for the vacant Senate District 26 seat. Senate District 26 was formally held by the late state Sen. Gary Stubblefield, and includes portions of Franklin, Johnson, Logan and Sebastian counties.
Berry served in the House of Representatives from 2021-2025 and as the adjutant general of the Arkansas National Guard from 2015-2019. As adjutant general, he served as director of the state Department of the Military and later as the department's secretary. Mark retired in 2019 after serving more than 45 years in the military.
Mark issued the following statement:
"It is an honor to officially file to run for Senate District 26, the seat formerly held by my good friend, Senator Gary Stubblefield. I will be the strong and unwavering voice District 26 deserves representing them in Little Rock. My focus remains on providing safety and security for our schools and communities, as well as lowering taxes, protecting the unborn, and protecting our Constitutional rights
"Furthermore, I strongly oppose the state's desire to locate a prison in Franklin County, and as your State Senator, I will fight with all I have to keep that from happening. If the people of District 26 put their trust in me, I promise to be a fighter and supporter they can count on. I look forward to earning their support in the months to come."
